| GO TO sarahabroad.com from now on. Its up and workign, and I will update it as much as possible. Also, jason, you crack me up. | | |
| Replying to people's comments. No, Krunal hasn't contacted me yet, yes I made the smell 10x worse, or maybe I'm just used to bad smells at the farm, and.. stuff...
SO, I went to my orientation today. I will be having hindi classes either with one other student or by myself which is fun.
The Prime minister's son-in-law teaches philosophy at my college, so I am meeting with him tomorrow to discuss class options. (I may take hindu philosophy or something, not decided yet)
All the American students here are nice, and fun, a couple are crazy just like me. The apartment is crazily nice and has marble floors! woooooOOooo
Classes start tomorrow, I have five periods a week for each class ( a period is 50 min) and I have classes on friday and SAT, argh. Oh well. I went shopping and did an ok job at bargaining, it was a lot of fun. I made friends with one clothes-seller so he gave me a discount on pants. hee hee.
My room is all decked out with star wars pics from a magazine Emily sent with me.
Oh, and I got the Harry Potter book on time, and read it in one day. Such a good book! | | |
| Im here, settled in the apartjment, currently in an internet cafe.
India is cool, but I hvaent been able to do much exploring. The cows
are awesome, it smells fine, its not too hot, the plane ride was not
NEARLY as awful as people told me it would be, though a little kid was
kicking my chair...
send me emails.

| I will be an airplane in 23 hours, on my way to India. On those rare
occasions that I stop denying the fact that I am leaving I am currently
mixed in a few states of anxiety, sadness, and excitement.
If you would like to read about my misadventures abroad, go to
sarahabroad.com, which will be up and running as soon as Ramon gets it,
well, up and running. You can also email me.
I hope everyone has a fabulous semester. I will miss good old Rutgers.

| Some people are so wonderful and genuinly nice that I just want to
burst with happiness that I have the privileage of knowing them. Others
are just so jerky I want to punch their faces through a wall.
I have to learn to be less violent and more turn-the-other-cheek-ish
I'm back at the good old farm, and it's a blast. It's funny how much I
miss that place without realizing it. One of my supervisor people
thingies (not sure what his official title is), Phil, has been
entrusting me with a lot more responsibilities, example: planting the
garden, which he's really picky about. It's funny how having a little
responsibility makes a job much more enjoyable, its nice when
people have faith in me.
Anyway, one of my normal responsibilities is NOT to run tours, but if a
tour is not covered by the people who ARE responsibile, I am sometimes
called in to cover for them, which is fine. However, it got out of hand
last year, and I was called out for tours many many more times than any
other employee. I eventually complained, and that sort of solved the
problem, but mostly made the secretary mad at me. So, its starting to
look like it might happen again, and its really annoying. The lady who
gives me all the tours asked me today when I was leaving for India, and
I thought to myself "how sweet, she is interested in knowing what I'm
up to" but after I told her she said, "oh good, you are here for June,"
and immediatly ran to her calendar to see which dates I was free for
tours. The reason for my constant choice to guide tours has been
explianed to me as "You are a young girl, so you are the obvious
choice" which just sounds like ageism and sexism, old guys, young guys,
and old women are just as capable at running tours. Anyway, it hasn't
happened yet, maybe I'm being paranoid, but I strongly suspect I will
see my name up for mulitple tours within the next few days. here's
hoping I'm wrong.
Another great person: I just made contact again with a lady I knew
through Girl Scouts. I emailed her asking for a recommendation, and felt
really bad about doing it since I havent talked to her in about three
years, but she's so kind. She emailed me back instantly extatic about
writing me a recommendation, and now we are in the middle of a very
nice e-mail conversation. I should never let myself lose contact with
awesome people.
one more random thought about awesome people:
I miss Deb, she also works with me at the farm, but she's out of work
for now, due to pregnancy. :) I can't wait for her baby and for
Shannon's baby to come, BABIES! I am highly concerned that I might
steal one, or both, of them.
